Last week, the Science department at Thomas Adams welcomed Professor Todd Huffman from the University of Oxford.

Professor Huffman is a Professor of Physics working at the cutting edge of the subject and was able to meet and talk to groups of our Key Stage 4 and 5 Physicists. Head of Science Tom Cuthbert said “it was an honour to welcome Professor Huffman. There was a real buzz surrounding his visit and students loved the opportunity to ask him about his work and about aspects of Physics and the Universe itself! He gave a really informative and engaging presentation which was fascinating to all who saw it.”

Assistant Headteacher, James Hargreaves added “it was a fantastic opportunity to show our students the excitement of finding things out for the first time.”

Whilst he was here, Professor Huffman spent some time with a group of sixth form students, talking to them about making an application to study at Oxford and what life is like at the university.
