On Friday 5th July, 42 year 10 and 12 students set off to France.

Saturday started with croissants and students making their baguettes before we set off to Paris for the day.

A climb up le Tour Eiffel with extraordinary views of Paris and the Olympic preparations, a trip on les Bateaux Parisiens along the Seine where we saw Notre Dame, the Académie Française and the Musée d’Orsay.

Finally, a stop at the Louvre and some shopping before returning to the château for an evening meal, swimming and entertainment.

On Sunday, a full day at Parc Asterix where students conquered their fears on amazing rollercoasters and log flumes!

Back to the château for another swim, their evening meal with the option of sampling snails and then a soirée crêpes!

A final chance for the students to practise their French skills at a hypermarché yesterday before returning home.
