Harry Meakin, a former Graphic Design student, re-visited the school recently to give a talk to current sixth form students. Harry was a student 13 years ago and was in Mr Haycock’s first Graphics group!

Following his time at Thomas Adams School Harry went to Shrewsbury College to study Art and then on to Cardiff University to study for a Graphic Communication Degree.

After graduating from University, Harry got in to branding and went to London to work for an agency. Shortly after he started up a studio with an experienced creative designer who he worked with for several years.

In 2020, Harry won ‘Young Designer of the Year’ and during the Covid pandemic, Harry made the decision to go freelance due to the restrictions in place and moved back to Shropshire.

Harry has worked on some amazing branding and packaging products including Team GB, Harvey Nicolls, Gordon’s, Volvic and The Jockey Club to name a few! His most recent work was the project rebrand for Team GB. The brand is in all forms running through textiles, merchandise, socials, advertising and the website of Team GB. He has gone on to have partnerships with other brands including British Airways and Aldi who sell and promote Team GB.

Harry talked about his experiences since leaving school, showing our students his Team GB project, as well as giving them some useful advice and helpful pointers in having a graphic design career.

Thank you for coming to visit!
