Thomas Adams v Telford Park – 05.03.24
The final game of our short season saw the Under 16 mixed team of Yr 10 and Yr 11 boys head south to Telford Park. We had an unusually dry day and we made the most of the conditions. Telford Park played with spirit and heart, but they were no match for us and we called the game at 49-0 in the 40th minute. In a team made up of Harry’s and Harrison’s (literally half of the squad is a derivative of those names), it has made coaching both equally easy and hard, imagine shouting ‘Harry’ from the sidelines and half the pitch turns to look at you!
Tries came from Jonty, Harry B (y11) Harry B (y10) Jimmy, Russ, Ted, Dan, Ollie and then Ted for final try. Harrison converted several of the tries and the other Harrison made several good attempts on the others. Well done to Ollie for both being a great captain and leading by example, but to also ensure that the boys were humble in success and never showboated. We ended with mixing the teams and this lifted the Telford Park spirits. Hand shakes and cheers to finish, both a good game, but also a great season.
With a 60% win total, the boys should be justifiably proud.
